2012 Plants

We are changing things a little this year.

We will be hosting a timber frame building workshop here at the farm March 31-April 6, which will involve lots of extra excitement.   So, we are not going to take orders for plants.

Instead, we will open March 8 so you can buy your early spring plants (cabbage, broccoli, lettuce, kale, Johnny-Jump-Ups) and get them growing while the weather is cool.  Then, we will throw open the big greenhouse doors on Thursday, April 5, offering our huge variety of heirloom tomatoes (around 70 kinds!), peppers (over 45 kinds!), squash, cucumbers, eggplants, herbs and flowers. Melons and okra will be ready just a little bit later.

The greenhouse will be open 8AM-4PM, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, March 8 through May 13.

As always, we also welcome you here by individual arrangements if our hours don’t work for you.  Just give us a call or email, so we will be sure to be here! (We usually are.)

I will list many of the varieties here so you can plan your garden, but there will also be a few surprises once you get here!

Please note that

we do not ship plants.

Thank you for your business!

Plant prices:  Each plant (in a 3 1/2” pot) costs $2.25.  Each 3-pack (available in only a few varieties) costs $3.00.  After you buy 18 plants, you will get 2 free plants.  Each 3-pack is counted as one plant for figuring free plants.

Our hours: We will be open  Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM from March 8-31 for early spring plants and April 5 through  May 13 for everything else.  Please call Angie at 615-796-0523 if you need to come at a different time or day and we’ll see what we can do.

Please bring your own boxes, trays, or other containers for transporting your plants home! The plastic trays we use in the greenhouse will cost $1 each if you need to take them home.  I’m sorry about that, but the cost of the trays really adds up.

Paying for your plants:  We accept cash or your personal check.  We are not set up to accept credit or debit cards.

Getting to the farm: Driving directions from several points are available here.  If you are being guided by a GPS device, use the address“178 Hickey Road, Woodbury, TN 37190.”  (The road has been called Birdsong Trail since 2006, but the map services are very slow to update their data.  If you ask a GPS device for Birdsong Trail, you will probably get very, very lost.)   It’s a good idea to have both of our telephone numbers with you in case you need last-minute help!  Greenhouse/cell (spotty reception): 615-796-0523;  House: 615-563-8132.

Questions: Please feel free to contact me, Angie, with any questions or comments you have about the plants.  I will do my best to answer promptly (which probably means within a day or two).
